About the Counsellor:

Alimat Fassassi (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker and therapist with seven years of experience in the field of mental health and counselling. Known for being compassionate, understanding, non judgmental, and an empathetic listener, she is dedicated to fostering a supportive and healing space for individuals, couples, and families.

Philosophy:

Alimat believes that everyone has their own unique story and experiences that have led them to where they are today, and it is her job to help them understand and work through those experiences through empowerment, self discovery and building a therapeutic alliance. Alimat is committed to empowering her clients to manage life with integrity, authenticity, and wholeness by providing them with life’s applicable tools for growth, healing, and fulfillment.

As a counsellor, Alimat endeavors to empower her clients to establish connections with themselves, exploring both present and past experiences and emotions. This exploration assists them in charting the direction they wish to pursue in resolving their dilemmas, ultimately fostering a path toward healing. Alimat utilizes a collaborative and integrative approach drawing on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, talk therapy, solution focused therapy, and emotion focused therapy to equip her clients with skills that facilitate insight, growth, and positive transformation.
